I’m Rita Stevens—Author of Unexpected Patterns of Purpose, Transformational Speaker, and Founder of Silent Voyces. I use my unique revelations to challenge others to believe in themselves and take an active step towards life purpose. My journey into advocacy and empowerment began with my youngest son’s traumatic brain injury and induced glaucoma, which resulted in cerebral palsy and visual impairments. Navigating this life-altering experience, our family faced years of uncertainty, feeling silenced and often lost as we struggled to find the resources and guidance we desperately needed.
This challenging path ignited a passion within me to help other families on similar journeys. I wanted to bridge the gap between where they are and the resources they need to move forward. From this vision, Silent Voyces was born—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering parents of children with special needs. The “Y” in Voyces symbolizes You—a reminder to every parent that they have a voice and that we are here to walk alongside them, advocating for their children and their families.
Unexpected Patterns of Purpose, reflects this transformational journey. It is both a personal memoir and a guide, showing how life’s unexpected challenges can reveal hidden paths to purpose. My hope is that it inspires others to embrace their unique patterns, unlocking doors to a life of meaning and fulfillment.
